When treading the path of an entrepreneur – in all its forms: solo-, socio-, or enterprising – you are going to need a lot of energy. I have compiled 10 ways that you can help you raise your energy.
Lighten Your Heart
As you go through life, you will see up close all of your own mistakes, failures and things which you wish you could change or have a chance to do over and better. But rarely do those opportunities happen. Be your own best friend and forgive yourself.
Write a letter, forgiving yourself of everything that haven’t worked out. All the pain that others have caused you, forgive them also. Have compassion, and let go of the pain in your heart – it is not helping you or anyone else in your life. Free up your heart space for love, happiness and the joys of life.
Learn Something New
Set aside time each day to learn something – either first thing or during your morning coffee break. Doing so early gives your brain a better chance to absorb the information: when you are most alert and awake.
Reflect on what you learn, contemplate for a few minutes how this new information can help you to become who you want to be, as well as help in your profession.
Perfection is a nothing more than a notional idea and an excuse to never finish something. After all, this isn’t your best, yet. It never will be, either, if you don’t say it’s done and release it into the world. You can improve on your products and skills while using them in actuality.
Improving things each round of iteration, building upon new innovation, is how you grow closer to perfection, not hiding things away or never finishing them.
Grow your enthusiasm with positive feedback and notice things that you may not have with constructive feedback offered. And then, go again.
Take a moment each day, sometime in your mornings, and think about what you are grateful for. But don’t just list the same things off each and everyday. Switch it up. Express why you are grateful. For example, “I am grateful for the sun in the sky today, because it signifies a new day of opportunities and a fresh start for me. Plus, it’s not raining.”
Avoid Gossip & Negative People
Gossip and negativity is not something that you want to bring into your life. They suck out all the positive energy you need to keep creating, doing and being prolific in your work and life.
If someone does approach you to discuss someone in a negative and non-constructive way, let them know that you are not interested in that kind of conversation. It may seem rude, but you need to draw the line.
You need to value the positive energy you have and maintain your own happiness.
This may sound pretty obvious, but it is important to breathe. But not just shallow breathing we tend to do when we are awake, but deep diaphragm breathing. Belly deep breathing. It will help calm you, as well as boost your oxygen levels.
Take a few moments each day, morning and afternoon, to practice a few belly deep breaths. You’ll feel better for it afterward.
I have said this in my post “Have You had a Productive Week?” but it is great to set aside time dedicated to checking if you are not only progressing towards your goals, but also to growing into the person you want to be.
If you aren’t going in the right direction, now is the time to figure out some proactive ways you can correct your course and get back on track. And if you have made the progress you wanted – go you! Seeing that on paper is such a boost.
Bring on the Positive
Nothing can boost you more than positive and happy things, or, for that matter, people. The energy that positive people with can-do attitudes have is contagious. It can get you thinking creatively about problems – or rather challenges – you may be facing.
Solving a problem is better than punishing it and lamenting over it – associate with people that do this.
Laughter, the medicine for the soul: it’s uplifting and positive energy producing and highly contagious. Laugh out loud, often, while you are thinking about your goals to boost your positive thinking about them, or for no reason whatsoever to boost your mood.
Keep Your Body and Mind Healthy
Your body needs to be healthy for your mind to be healthy and vice versa. Invest in your body and keep it healthy, so that you can spend more of your energy producing and doing the things that you really want to do, rather than neglect it and have your energy focused on healing.
Eat healthily, exercise ever single day and get good sleep. Talk over issues with people you trust. Over time, you will develop more energy than what you know what to do with…!
Over to You
